The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is the export marketing authority of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that acts as catalyst in creating and managing opportunities in the global market for our clients, most specially the SMEs. CITEM takes advantage of these opportunities by organizing strategic trade promotion activities that aims to further enhance the country's image as a reliable source of world-class products and services.
Main Activities
CITEM's core function is the promotion of Philippine products and services in the world market. This includes export expansion and branding the Philippines as an exporting nation. The aim is to promote the country as a reliable source products and services with quality that meets global standards. CITEM works closely with other DTI agencies in the performance of its mandate.

To specify, CITEM partakes in the following tasks to promote the country and its commodities:
  • Careful selection of international trade fairs and missions
  • Sustained presence in traditional markets while opening up new markets
  • Regular provision of market updates and merchandise design trends
  • Sourcing and coordination of technical and merchandise consultancies
  • Development and promotion of new export industries
  • Organization of incoming trade missions timed with exhibitions
  • Participation in overseas special exhibitions

linkManila FAME 
The Design and Lifestyle Event is the country's premier trade platform for exports and design, providing opportunities for small and medium scale entrepreneurs to showcase their products in the world market. Manila FAME is one of the longest running trade shows in the Asia-Pacific, featuring the latest Philippine-made creations from artisans and manufacturers and is the only trade event in the country approved by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

Its October 2011 edition marked a milestone for the trade show as it began a partnership with the country's three major sourcing events – Manila Now, CEBUNEXT, and Bijoux Cebu – consolidating four event brands under one design-defining show, bringing greater variety of products in furniture and furnishings, holiday and gifts, and fashion to more buyers, serving more markets, and creating a bigger stage to showcase Philippine design and artisanship.

International Food Exhibition (IFEX) Philippines: Asia's Ethnic Food and Ingredients Show is a biennial event organized by DTI through CITEM, in partnership with the Philippine Department of Agriculture-Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Service (DA-AMAS). It is a global showcase of Asia's tropical food and a platform for the country's fresh, processed, Halal-certified, and organic food sectors in the Philippines. IFEX Philippines is your premier international sourcing hub for the finest ethnic Asian food, ingredients and raw materials. Since 2004, the show has provided food and beverage companies the key venue to promote their products globally and connect with international buyers, importers, and retailers. Connect with hundreds of food exporters from Singapore, India, Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Taiwan and Japan as they carve a slice of Asia's tropical market in the IFEX Philippines.

A national celebration that fosters local and global awareness on the importance of creativity and design capability of the Filipino people. It aims to promote the Philippines as a design hub in Asia and a leading knowledge center in design, as well as a premier tourism destination in art, culture and heritage.
